Sudhir Thaker is the visionary founder and Chairman of Nishu Group, a trailblazing conglomerate established in 1995. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lukhdhirji Engineering College in 1982, he has embarked on a journey that has revolutionized the construction industry in India. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he embarked on a fulfilling academic career from 1983 to 1990 serving as a professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering at Polytechnic, Porbandar, and the Agricultural Engineering College, Junagadh.
Under Sudhir Thaker’s astute leadership, Nishu Group has evolved into a hallmark of innovation and excellence. In 2003, he pioneered Silpoz, a breakthrough product that has been integral to the construction landscape of Mumbai, embraced by leading developers for its superior performance. Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, he expanded Nishu Group’s portfolio with strategic ventures. In 2007, he established the CLC block plant, followed by the Hollow and Solid Blocks plant in 2008, and the High Strength Pavers plant in 2012. These initiatives underscore his commitment to advancing construction technology and sustainability.
Sudhir Thaker’s entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond manufacturing of building materials. Since 1990, he has been actively involved in construction and land development, significantly reshaping the landscape of the peninsular region of Gujarat.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Sudhir Thaker is a Sangeet Visharad in Indian Classical Music and an approved light music singer and composer for Doordarshan and All India Radio. This deep-rooted passion not only serves as a professional and recreational pursuit but also provides him with invaluable moments of introspection, fostering creativity and balance amidst the demands of business leadership.

As the Managing Director of Nishu Chemtech Private Limited, I am honoured to lead our family business into a new era of innovation and growth. With over 15 years of active involvement in the building materials manufacturing industry, I have accumulated extensive experience and knowledge, particularly in concrete technology. This journey has equipped me with the expertise needed to steer our company towards new heights in the chemical industry.
Our family has a rich history of successful ventures, not only in building materials but also in real estate. This diverse background has provided a solid foundation for the innovative steps we are now taking in the chemical manufacturing sector.
I hold an MBA with a focus on Finance and Marketing and have further enhanced my skills through a strategic pricing and marketing course at UC Berkeley. These educational experiences, coupled with my practical expertise, have prepared me to navigate the complexities of our industry with a visionary and risk-taking approach.
Throughout my career, I have headed several large manufacturing units specializing in hollow and solid blocks, lightweight blocks, and high-strength paver blocks. These roles have deepened my understanding of the industry and strengthened my commitment to quality and innovation.
Since the beginning of 2022, I have embraced a new challenge by venturing into the chemicals manufacturing business. This initiative was driven by a desire to diversify our family portfolio and introduce construction chemicals to our range of products. Our flagship product, polycarboxylate ether (PCE) superplasticizer, exemplifies our commitment to enhancing concrete performance, providing superior workability, strength, and durability.

As a young and enthusiastic entrepreneur stepping into this leadership role as the CEO of Nishu Chemtech PVT. LTD., I am deeply committed to building on the legacy of excellence established by our family. My journey to this role has been shaped by a diverse educational background and valuable professional experiences, all of which have equipped me to contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Nishu Chemtech.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s of Science in Business Analytics from the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario, Canada. These academic pursuits provided me with a strong foundation in engineering principles, data-driven decision-making, and strategic business management. My professional career began at Bruce Power, the world’s largest operating nuclear plant, where I worked as a Business Analyst. This role honed my analytical skills and gave me a deep appreciation for precision, safety, and efficiency—values that are critical in the chemical manufacturing industry. Following this, I served as a Market Research Analyst at StarTech.com, an IT manufacturing company. Here, I gained insights into market dynamics and customer needs, which reinforced the importance of innovation and customer-centric approaches in business.
